It’s that time of year again; the time when the leaves turn brown and you finally notice that the nights are drawing in. Before long we’ll be putting our clocks back and I’ll be complaining about how cows don’t care whether it’s light or dark in the morning.
It’s also the time of year for renewing the tax on my van.
The thing is that, what with life and oil issues getting in the way, I’ve really not used Red as much as I wanted to this summer. I actually feel a sad little tug in the left side of my chest that summer is over. Red aside, I’m really not where I expected to be at this point in time, but that’s a self-indulgent misery and I’m not going to go there.
So! What to do?
The weather is colder, the nights are longer and money isn’t exactly aplenty at the moment, so I really don’t know if I should renew it on Monday morning or declare it SORN.
My workmate, Anais, thinks that I should bite the bullet and pay the fee. She thinks it’s better to have the opportunity to run away at 5 minutes notice. I have to admit, I do like her thinking. But it’s a LOT of money.
